On Thursday evening, Palazzo della Gran Guardia will host the WVPAC dinner. A breathtaking and unforgettable occasion to have a look at an ancient palace downtown a few steps form Arena di Verona.

La Gran Guardia is a palace located in the historic center of Verona. Leaning against the municipal walls, with its elegant staircase, it dominates Piazza Bra.
The building was built in two different historical phases: it flourished in the middle of the Baroque period, during the first half of the 1600s, when it was designed to counterbalance the Arena.
Its construction therefore began in the seventeenth century and ended only in 1843. The formal birth certificate of the building was signed on 26 September 1609 with an official request from Captain Mocenigo to the Doge of Venice Donà.
The structure consists of a lower portico with thirteen arches. The upper part is made up of fifteen large windows, equipped with triangular frontispieces and interspersed with double columns in a classic style. It is currently one of the main exhibition centers in Verona. The most important exhibitions have been held here in recent years.
In addition to the large exhibitions, minor parallel exhibitions are set up, taking advantage of the spaces of the buvette. Important conferences are also often organized, as well as musical or film reviews.

Time to say goodbye: The Chairman of WVPAC 2023 and the President of WVPA will greet
each other and the WVPA flag will be delivered to the next host.
